Today i decided to take a walk to the great wall! =)

Is amazing, is a replica of the original, is very realistic and very big, but unfortunately is alone, we have to rescue these places, because all discos are fulls, but this kind of architecture is empty...

i can see in this kind of lands that people worked a lot to built this... and people dont visit it =(

Is one of the seven wonders in the world, i know that is not like visit the RL wall, but is a way to have an idea about it =)

Weeks ago i was looking for some new clothes, and i found this amazing shop "La Rosa"

The store has clothes for men and women

You can find there: Skins, AOs, Hair, Shoes, Clothes etc...

Up stairs, they have a frebies section, next you can find 5oL clothes, the thing that i like more about that store is that all outfits have shoes included!

Also they have a 30L and 10 linden section...

If you want more, you can buy the normal clothes, it have a price of 99L is not expensive...

The expensive stuff are skins, aos, and some shoes...

The best of this, is that every day you can find a MM with a Gift card of 500L you have to be member of the group to can register in the board, this store is very popular in SL

SL Virtual Government

With the Australian Federal Election called for August 21st 2010, it got me thinking... should Second Life have a community based government?

Having thought about some of the mayhem of hackers and what not i have thought up a basic government strategy.

This is obviously very extensive, and we could not START like this.

They way it works is like this... The Virtual Council is the largest government faction, each 1/4 region in SL will have 6 Councilors who will decide amongst them who should be the Mayor of their respective 16,384 Sqm block of land, Councilors and Mayors do not have direct control of regions, but represent their "town" and will usually work with their Representative in the HoR.

The next one up is the Virtual Senate, now the Senate do not have any specific "regions" to work from, the 21 senators represent all of Second Life's community and will play a part in changing rules and monitoring the world.

The House Of Representatives is the next one up from the Senate, basically for every region on Second life 65,536 Sqm of land, will have a Representative, being a Rep will allow you access to higher forms of government, if the Virtual President presents a rule to the HoR's, then they have to vote on whether to pass the rule or not, if it is not passed the Rule is dissolved and put into the archives, if it is voted in, the rule will then be presented to the Senate, if the Senate rejects the Rule, the government will need to modify the Rule and send it back through the HoR, if it gets through it is passed to the Senate, if they reject it again, the rule is dissolved and put into the archives, but if the pass the rule, the President sends the new rule to Linden Labs, and LL can either implement it or reject it at that point.

Apart from LL itself, being in government is the highest you can get, basically in a Virtual Government there will be a President, a Vice President (who will jointly run the world) a Minister for Propaganda (ads and such) a Minister for Community (who will quiz the community on what they want improved) and a Minister for Economy (who will control economic decisions and run government funds)

The second biggest party in the HoR will be known as the "Opposition" they are the next in power, they have a Leader (the winner of their last Primary election or leadership ballot) a Vice Leader (Chosen by Leader in last Primary election, or runner up in a leadership ballot) a Shadow Minister for Propaganda, Shadow Minister for Community and a Shadow Minister for Economy.

The opposition will challenge Government bills and decisions and propose their own policies to gain favour.

Elections, a term of Government shall be a fixed 6 Months (HoR and main government only) in the last two weeks of Government the Election shall begin, while the Election is on, the HoR is dissolved and the Government is placed in low power to prevent power issues, The Senate may or may not be dissolved, one term in the Senate is 12 Months and therefor will only be dissolved every 2nd Election, the Council may or may not be Dissolved, one term in the council is 3 Months and 2 local council elections will take place by the end of the General Election.

In the first week it is the Primary's for each party, after the Primary vote takes place the Leader will select a Vice Leader and together will select the people running for the HoR (they will either keep the incumbent and have them up for re-election or will replace them either because they don't like them, or they are not re-contesting the election.)

In the second week, there will be debates between the party leaders and vice leaders and finally the General Election vote, voting is not compulsory but a person must enter their home region and vote for a HoR candidate and in some cases a Senate candidate and Council candidate.

The new government or continuation of the Incumbent government will require that they have a majority of reps elected into the HoR's, once the day has ended, the vote results are displayed and the new government is immediately put in place and the start of the term begins.

But of course this is all for kicks, i doubt it will happen.

Hunts in SL!! (No vampire Hunt lol)

Do you know something about hunts in sl?

Well, hunt is not about going for an animal, person etc. is about something that you can find in some lands in SL.

For example in this moment you can do a bee hunt, yes, a bee hunt, do you think that is funny? lol well it is, but months ago i did a poo hunt, was very comic.

A Sl hunt is about an object, for example the bee in this case, you have a list of all the lands where you can find bees, is not easy, you have to take a look at the complete store, of course, only the stores that are taking part of the hunt... how do you know what kind of stores? well for that you are going to see a panel or sign outside of the store telling you about the hunt.

The prizes are very good, you can receive objects with excellent quality, but it depends of the store sure, if a very expensive clothes store is participating, you are going to receive a very nice dress too, the same with a shoe store, etc.

Paradise amusement park

Today i was bored, and because of that my sisters and i decided to go to an amusement park, it have a lot of things to do, you can play pac-man, donkey kong, and other games in Arcade room.

I walked and i saw a very crazy game "Freak out", omg that game is amazing, you can take a ride and you will have a lot of fun, in front of this game you can see the wheel of the fortune, is very high, you can do a lot of things there! you can go with your family, couple, children, friends etc! i love all the games! the hammer! a disco, but my favorite game was the swarm, you will have to try it!

Is a very quiet place, it will not have lag, so you can go and take your time there, you are going to feel like a kid again =)

Titanic!!

i cant believe it, yesterday i was spending some time with my new friend Reginok, he is going to be a vampire too, he asked me if he can spend some time with me, and i acepted, we went to nice gardens, to a huge train! but later we go to the Titanic! i was astonished, is identical to the ship from the movie! the first thing that i wanted to do was going to the prow like Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate winslet (yes you can do that) it has pose balls for couples, i was like a kid, i posed and we took a very nice picture...

But that is not all, then we went inside of the ship! and surprise! you can dance there, is very romantic for couples, the people have to go there, is an amazing experience =D

I cant Believe it... i am hire!

Some days ago i was very anxious to find job in SL, i went to a lot of work agencies, i spent hours and hours going to one place to another looking for the perfect job for me... but nothing, i saw hostess, dancers, stripers etc, nothing was for me, i was very disappointed, but when my search was ending, i saw a board, a very nice one, and i loved it!, they where searching for a writer; in that moment i read the notecard and i contacted Gypsy Lysette, i love to write and this will be the perfect job for me, i was praying because i really want the job, 2 hours later, i received an IM from her, she told me that i have to write about anything!... WoW i thought, this is my opportunity, i stared to write about me, i spent like 2 hours writting that story, it was a little hard for me because my first language is spanish, and i have to practice a lot, but finally i can finished my history, i sent her my note card wishing to be hire, but 2 days later nothing... i was very sad, because i thought that she didnt like my story, a week later nothing... u.u is ok, i can get an other job i thought, but i really dont like the others, i was hoping a lot but....

Yesterday i was with my virtual family in SL spending some time in few lands, i went to a very nice racetrack when i saw Gypsy online, i said hi to her, and surprise!! she told me that i was hired! i was very very happy!, i am happy now, i love to write, and i am here! writing my histories! and i am going to write Daily

My beginning

Hi my name is Pilar Wickentower I am 20 years old and I am a very proud Mexican girl, I have been here around a year, and this is my story:Maybe you are asking how I arrive here? The answer is easy if you have a friend like me, his name in Second life is AlanSteven, he is my best friend in the whole world, and he is guilty for my passion to this game.When Alan created my account, I was 19 years old; I didn´t have idea about my user name and my last name, when he finished, he gave me my password and I can login to my account, I remembered my fist impression about the game… it wasn’t good, I was in shock, I turned my head and surprise! A lot of nude, tons of ugly avatars dressing the same clothes, I was very disappointed, it wasn´t the world that i imagine, and then surprise! I saw myself, damn! I said, I was with the same ugly pink dress like the other girls. I started to walk like a monkey, and I saw a very good looking avatar in front of me, he said - “Hello my friend” in that moment I knew that he was my best friend, I was very happy, he proposed to help me with the game, I accepted, he taught me to fly and everything and from that moment the game began to seem nice. The next step was my clothes; he took me to a big freebie store the name was Milky9, the place was amazing, it had a lot of clothes, shoes, jewelry, everything! I was shocked the dream of the entire women makes come true! In that store; I was very excited, I began to buy madly everything there (a big mistake, because in this days I have a lot of trash in my inventory) I couldn’t sleep that day and my friend either, I was crazy!, I waste my time hours in that place; Alan taught me how to open the boxes and how to dress after that he had to go. I was alone, but I didn’t care, the whole world was mine; it was difficult at first, but not impossible. Walking without AO covered with freebies I was the happier girl in SL, I saw all kind of places, nude beaches, castles, parks, etc. Second life was a dream for me.When I was 8 days old, I felt like an expert, Alan helped me a lot with my outfit and I was a normal girl there, with a little exception, my crazy pink hair. One day I was exploring a very strange castle, but then I saw a boy he was running behind me, I walked faster, but it was too much late he was next to me –Hi, he said-Hi, I said, he speaks my language I thought, how did he know that my fist language is Spanish?
The boy stared talking and talking; I was bored, and a little bit scared, because his name was Lokillo, Oh god please, this boy is mad, I was going to run but there were four words that catches my attention:- I am a vampire, he told me- Omg, those exist? I asked It was the last thing that I was expected, but even this way I get excited anyhow everything was possible here, for that reason I listened all his conversation.Some days later I already had known all his vampire family I really want to be one of them,-Myself a vampire? I thought, I have to tell this to my friend Alan.When I told him, he was surprised, but the biggest surprise will be for me- My friend, I am a vampire too, he told meWhat? That’s not possible, my friend a vampire too? Oh my god, but he supported me with my decision. Two days later when I was 14 days old, I was in my initiation in the vampire clan “La liga del mal”, I remembered that it was a very dark place, like a temple, with a lot of vampires bitting me to finished my five liters of human blood by this way be able to turn what I am, a vampire.

Real Love or just Pixels?

Everyone comes to the wonderful game we play Second Life for some reason, whether it is to find the excitement of a gamer's pleasure or to explore something that is beyond Real Life or like most on this game its to find love.

Going through this game and having only been on it for 8 months going on 9 I have found my self Second Life to be a Second Life indeed. Even though I am married in Real Life then men I have come to know about in this game are fascinating to understand their actions.

When it comes right down to it Second Life is really no different from Real life according to some of us who look to this game to find both types of love. When I look around me and see some of my friend who are either married or are dating; I see real life problems between them. For example, I see some women get worked up over their so called "husbands" which are the men that they are partnered to cheat on them with other women in the game.

But, when I ask these ladies do you intend to marry them in real life or date them in Real life they all replied the same answers in all different ways.

"No, I don't intend to marry him, but maybe date him."

If they all came up with this answer then doesn't that make you wonder about your relationship that you are in on the game?

If do not intend to marry them or date them in real life, then why take the game so personally? Is it because we really do intend for it to mean something in real life, but for some of us it will never be?

Or are we simply fooling ourselves to believe that this game is the reality we really want to be in. Alot of people on this game say that they do not mix second life with real life, but if that is so true, look at the things they get angry about, look at the way they love someone like this is the reality we live in today.

Is this really a game to us? Or is this our reality trapped inside a virtual world?

Why Second Life Is The Virtual Life Of Choice

Second Life was created by Linden Labs in 2003, 7 years AFTER Activeworlds made it's debut.
For those who don't know it Activeworlds is the first and longest running virtual world in history, with 14 years of experience under her belt, Activeworlds became the benchmark for a 'second life' so to speak.
In 2003 Second Life was released, and it was at the time designed to be a major competitor for Activeworlds, although the guys down at AWI (Activeworlds Inc) didn't take Second Life as a serious threat, and in as little as two years the two systems had an equal amount of active users and Activeworlds had banned people saying 'Second Life' as it was considered a form of advertising.

Today as it stands, Activeworlds is popular with over 30,000 users but Second Life boasts a huge 65,000 active user count. Why is this? what's all the fuss about anyway?

System Usage: Activeworlds wins this one by a mile, the Activeworlds browser isn't as needy as the Second Life viewer and can be run by computers alot older, obviously a target towards the low end of the market
Graphics: The hands down winner here is Second Life, the Havoc 3 game engine is far more superior when it comes to performance, detail and physics (which Renderware lacks)

Free Membership: This one goes to Second Life, as a free member you can earn money, talk to people, get access to everywhere and buy clothes, customize your avatar etc, and the free membership in Second Life definatly comes with more perks than the Tourist option on Activeworlds.
Paid Membership: I have awarded this to Activeworlds, AW is slightly cheaper and offers alot more in the membership package, (such as avatars etc) although the Second Life Premium Membership is great, it is too costly for its lack of extra features of the Basic Membership.
Overall Features: This was a tough one, but i have to say that Second Life has the overall better features, with the Linden Dollars, self made objects, clothes and even the opportunity to get nasty (hehehe you know what i'm talking about) the overall features in Second Life is superior to those on AW.

FINAL ROUND: User Experience

The last Categories are Ease of use, Community and World Moderation

Ease of Use: I used Activeworlds from 2005-2009 and in that time i still hadn't learn't everything, for four years i studied the Renderware system, but it was just to ancient, complex and down right annoying. I give this one to Second Life, because since i migrated here in November of 09 (i lost my account recently because i forgot the password, hence the new account) within 1 week i knew pretty much everything, and even now 7 months on, i can safely say i only need to learn when a new feature is released.
Community: Again this goes to Second Life, in AW it takes a while for people (especially Citizens) to actually notice your existence, in Second Life, i have been friends with Basic and Premium members from day 1.
World Moderation: This one goes to Activeworlds, there is no room for mistakes there, they barely allow nudity and profanity, and it's nearly impossible to bend the rules, in Second Life, its just like real life, the rules get broken, and the ppl up top don't do anything.

So with a total score of 6-3 Second Life is the better Virtual World, these are the reasons why it has double the members Activeworlds has.

Gambling In Second Life

As you may or may not know, several months ago Linden Labs banned 'Gambling' or at least, what THEY considered to be gambling. I have noticed however the money hugging casino equivalents such as 'Studio 777' (or should i say 666) are still allowed to run!
The banning of games such as poker was probably not because it's 'gambling' so to speak, as most people know there is an actual skill to poker, and counting cards can be an almost fool proof method of assuring a win.
The other issue with games like these, is that there will always be a winner, and my bet is that virtual 'casino' owners bombarded the Linden Labs emails with complaints about being ripped off. Unfortunately for them Linden Labs moved quickly to close their casino's and ban what are in my opinion 'winnable' games.

People may look at this article and go "So what? if your so stupid to waste your money there then you deserve to lose your money!" and my answer to this is simple, Linden Labs BANNED gambling, and i'm sure clubs like Studio 777 should have been told to take down their machines and major glitch rigging ways. But if my suspicions are correct, some of these club owners may have a tight working relationship with Linden Labs.

Building in Second Life

I have been asked many times, "Can you teach me to build"? Well, if I had the time I would teach everyone how to build, but we all know that is impossible. What I can do is tell you where I learned how to build. Not only is learning to make items in Sl fun, but it can save you Lindens and you can even earn lindens by selling your creations inworld or on xstreet!

At the end of this article I am going to give you the slurl to my very favorite place in second Life, the happy hippo Building club. for L$100 you can join the club and become a "Happy Hipster". Becoming a "Happy Hipster" comes with many perks. Free access to all Happy Hippo classes, this includes the do it yourself classes and the classes taught by their first class instructors. You can learn anything from basic building to advanced scripting, clothes making and anything in between.

Happy Hippo's group chat is the best, you can im anytime of day or night with a question and someone will usually have an answer for you. Everyone in the group is very friendly and eager to help. Hippo also has a board of volunteers (I am one) that you can im any time for assistance.

Sounds like a lot for L$100 doesn't it? Well that is not all! (I sound like a commercial but it really is a great group) Freebies-Freebies and yes, more freebies. If you need just about anything for a building project it is there; textures, sculpts, scripts, gadgets and more. Hippo also offers a large selection of items for sale and proceeds help keep the school running.

I can not say enough good things about the Happy Hippo Building Club. I have learned a lot there and I will continue to take classes, get the freebies and tip to help support the sim. Second Life Events

It's a Wednesday at 5:00pm slt, I am bored and I want something fun to do to liven up my mood. I haven't heard of anything fun going on so I am going to hit the event section. Wow, what a pile of crap today. I mean how many Best in Whatever Contest's can you have?
Alright, I found a Motley Crue Concert at a club called WET WILLIES ROCK CLUB. I am going to TP over and see what's going on.
OK, If this is not WET WILLIES this is definately heaven! What a sexy crowd. I mean long haired tattooed Gods with no shirts. Super sexy rock chicks with pieces of clothes on their bodies to die for. This was definately my kind of place!
I was immedietly welcomed by a friendly and fun crowd. That was a big relief, I hate going to those unfriendly, cliquey clubs. Everyone was rocking and the band was great. Motley Crue looked like the RL band and they moved around the stage and interacted with the crowd. They played a great music set including one of my favorites "Home Sweet Home". I literally broke a lighter out in my RL living room and sang along with them! My neighbors ears must bleeding, but I don't care it was great!. I must say I had a great time! This is an awesome place to meet new people and ROCK OUT \m/
